Outline
In the darkness, her lavender eyes glow. With each flash of her eyes, the enemies who foolishly oppose the sisters of Valhalla fall one by one. In the white snowstorm, enemies tremble with fear and fade away. This sniper in a white uniform silently approaches and massacres her targets, then disappears like a phantom. With her mysterious-colored right eye, this perfect sniper is known by her enemies as the "White Reaper," a name filled with both fear and reverence.
As her name suggests, Valkyrie leads brave warriors from this world to heaven. To avoid detection by her enemies, she chose an ocular implant over a traditional scope, allowing her to hide in the snow for days, trading one bullet for one life. She remains calm and emotionless in any situation, never leaving any trace for the enemy to detect.
Origin Story
The military organization of Black River, which began with Anger of Horde, reached its peak with Steel Line. After it was revealed that the T-75 War Wolf, an assault infantry from Anger of Horde, was not suitable for standard infantry combat compared to the T-2 Brownie, the trend on the battlefield shifted to using Brownie as an assault infantry. However, in the snowy mountains of Northern Europe, known as the Snow Mountain War, Brownie struggled against the government’s human soldiers wearing exoskeletons. The government soldiers used the mountainous and lake-filled terrain of Northern Europe to easily hunt down the Brownies, and the aggressive nature of the Brownies only increased their casualties. To overcome this situation, Black River began designing a new infantry bioroid, and after many trials and errors, the T-8W Valkyrie was selected as the new standard infantry for the sisters of Valhalla.
Although Valkyrie was an absurdly expensive infantry unit compared to Brownie, she quickly proved that the cost was well justified. The 2056 rifle, an old sniper rifle modified for durability, had low rate of fire but was highly accurate and durable, making it a highly reliable weapon, especially well-suited to Valkyrie's physique. Wielding the 2056 rifle, Valkyrie moved through the snowy mountains and winter swamps, easily infiltrating deep into enemy lines and massacring them before they even realized she was there. Her performance solidified the company's dominance in Northern Europe and Russia.
Even during the Extinction War, Valkyrie’s effectiveness remained unmatched. She frequently repelled the swarming Iron Bug attacks from the skyscrapers of cities, earning her popularity as a protector of civilians. Due to her exceptional stamina and durability, she was able to continue fighting the Iron Bugs with the help of civilians even after the government organizations collapsed early in the war. However, Valkyrie’s high production cost meant that she could not be properly replenished, and the Valkyries defending the cities eventually perished.
It was Leona who revived Valkyrie. Choosing her as the perfect soldier to execute her cold and precise tactics, Valkyrie was one of the first infantry units to be resurrected in the Sisters of Valhalla, aside from Leona. Even now, Valkyrie fights the Iron Bugs across various terrains. Although she hesitates to guide the Iron Bugs to their Valhalla due to the absence of humans, her ability to neutralize their weapons and prevent them from harming her sisters proves that she is still the best sniper.
Personality and Values
Values
Valkyrie is a cold and strict soldier. She doesn’t talk much and prioritizes completing her missions. Unlike the more emotional Brownie, Valkyrie has a calm and dry personality.
However, this does not mean that Valkyrie is cold-blooded. She simply values her missions highly, but in her usual demeanor, she is quiet and warm-hearted, always willing to sacrifice herself to protect her comrades, making her a righteous soldier.
Relationships
Valkyrie most often holds her unit commander, Leona, in the highest regard. Valkyrie's genes were designed to be compatible with Leona's personality, making this admiration natural. Just as the lion of the North was deeply respected by the Hakkapeliitta, Valkyrie respects Leona's always correct judgments and wishes to stay with her even after retiring from combat when her combat performance declines. However, since there has never been an example of a commander model retiring, Valkyrie’s wish to serve the same master has never been fulfilled.
Valkyrie has strong feelings of camaraderie toward Nymph, who provides cover for her, and Gremlin, who defends key points, but she rarely expresses these feelings openly. She always tries to be humble and cautious in her words and actions to avoid hurting her comrades' feelings. However, she does worry about Gremlin’s excessive interest in sexual matters.
Valkyrie is also quite concerned about Sand Girl. She believes Sand Girl is too self-destructive and impulsive, and she hopes that Sand Girl will change her ways and find hope in life again.
Behavior / Language
Valkyrie tries to speak only when necessary. She doesn’t talk much and believes that too many words can lead to mistakes. She wishes to gain her comrades' trust through her actions and by completing her missions.
Abilities
Deranging Fire: As a skilled ranger, Valkyrie does her best to conceal her position from enemies. She aims at specific parts of the enemy's body to mislead them about her location. In the snowy mountains, where nothing reflects light, finding her is nearly impossible.
Accurate Snipe: Valkyrie is one of the top marksmen among bioroids. When she decides to finish off an enemy, she always targets the area that will cause the most damage, often exchanging one bullet for one life.
Pinpoint Sniping: Valkyrie believes that it’s safer to finish off enemies up close rather than sniping them from afar. She has a tendency to approach enemies as closely as possible to take them out, and her excellent concealment skills make this strategy possible.
White Death: Her skill in concealment not only hides her location but also ensures that she is well-covered. Most enemy counterattacks end in failure, and she never forgives such enemies.
